What is Microcurrent?
Microcurrent is a form of electrotherapy. It is a low-level electrical current that mimics the body’s natural electrical rhythms. The body produces a natural current on a normal basis to drive various cellular processes. Cellular processes are necessary for the skin to operate as it should – to heal, regenerate, produce collagen, metabolize, and so on.
However, the current can become interrupted by aging, free radicals, or injury, thus causing delayed cellular processes. Microcurrent helps lift and tone the facial muscles, rejuvenate the skin, and restores cells by increasing ATP. In a sense, it’s a workout for your face.
Benefits
Benefit 1: Stimulates Muscles
The face achieves an uplifted and contoured appearance.
Benefit 2: Upregulates Collagen Production
Collagen is the foundation of your skin – making it firm, smooth, and free of wrinkles. Collagen also improves elasticity.
Benefit 3: Improves Blood Flow and Lymphatic Drainage
Blood brings nutrients to the skin while lymphatic drainage helps reduce puffiness and rid of toxins.
Benefit 4: Product Penetration
This is achieved through iontophoresis. Iontophoresis creates an acidic environment necessary to penetrate product into the skin.
Benefit 5: Increases ATP
Adenosine Triphosphate is an organic compound that provides cells with the energy to conduct cellular processes.
When Do I See Results?
Results vary depending on age and amount of damage. Instant results can be seen after just one treatment and lasts about 3 days. Results last longer when treatments are done in a series.
Under 35 years old: 5 Treatments over 2 – 3 weeks
35 – 50 years old: 10 – 15 treatments over 4 – 7 weeks
50 and older: 15 treatments over 5 – 7 weeks
*Smokers, sunbathers, or clients with a history of toxic substances may require 15 – 20 treatments
